What a question for Fontana to be asking: "Where do we find the money?". Clearly he did not care enough to think of the consequences while making his grand sounding zero tax pledge to the electorate. How far are we going to be held hostage to his ill conceived election promises? If he doesn't do an about face on it the city will be left in ruins simply because of his pride. Where's a political 'night of the long knives' when needed?

Harvey Filger, from Alberta, sounds like a level headed sensible man. In all my years I've never been able to grasp the rationale for the habit the City of London has of erasing the slate every four years and starting the process of planning the future, or holding onto the past again, and again and again...oh every council has peculated some lovely fresh ideas, but either they aren't carried forward to the current councils agenda, or they get researched, tweaked and amended until they end up costing too much money, or put on the back burner 'til the kettle boils over and the pot goes dry.

Mayor Fontana asks: “Where do we find the money?” If Mr. Filger provides the answer Mayor Fontana takes the credit. If the City Hall staff can not provide an answer that Mayor Fontana accepts - then they will get the blame. gryff :)
