Setting the Record Straight - Earlier Published Reports Re: Fontana Spending  - Incorrect

LONDON (March 19) – When city council went into a closed-door session last November to decide how to evict Occupy London from Victoria Park, it did not violate the Ontario Municipal Act.

LONDON (March 2) – The $20 million Southwest Economic Fund, unveiled with great fanfare by the Liberal minority government, is in trouble, Energy Minister Chris Bentley acknowledged Friday at a meeting with city council.

LONDON (Feb. 13) – A city council committee has rejected the idea of a smoking ban at restaurant and bar patios and for festivals in its parks. But it has asked city staff to study extending the ban to public areas where children congregate such as pools, splash pads and playing fields.

LONDON (Jan. 31) – The final chapter of wild animals at Storybook Gardens is about to be written – somewhere else. City council has concurred with a staff recommendation to transfer the seals, otters, raptors, beavers and lynx to animal shelters and zoos somewhere else.
